<p>Okay, so you’re ready to get in shape and you’ve even chosen a workout routine or two to get the job done. Now what?  Now you get started, right? You just jump right in and start exercising.</p>
<p>Well, you could do that however to get the best, and longest lasting, results from your workout routine, it pays to<a href="http://workoutroutineschedules.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/getfitpic1.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-958" title="a good workout plan" src="http://workoutroutineschedules.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/getfitpic1.jpg" alt="a good workout plan" width="425" height="282" /></a> take a few important steps first.</p>
<p>Getting and staying in shape is important to you, so it’s important to create a plan for success. It’s important to implement your workout routines effectively.</p>
<p><strong>1.Be honest with yourself. </strong>When choosing a workout routine, it’s important to take your personality into consideration. If, for example, you decide you’re going to run every day, well some people just aren’t runners – even if they want to be. Be honest with yourself and find a workout routine you are going to be able to enjoy and commit to.</p>
<p><strong>2.Make it a priority</strong>. It’s so easy to say you’re going to work out but if you don’t make it, if you don’t make yourself, a priority, it’s not going to happen. We all have a long to do list to wake up to each and every day. If working out is at the bottom, or even in the middle, of your task list, you will be hard pressed to get to it. Move it to the top of your to do list.</p>
<p><strong>3.Budget your time. </strong>Time is scarce, it always is and it probably always will be. Keeping that in mind, you have to make time to work out. Again, it’s important to be honest with yourself here too. If you’re not a morning person, expecting to be able to get up an hour earlier may be difficult.</p>
<p><strong>4.Reward yourself.</strong> One of the best ways to get and stay motivated is to reward yourself for your accomplishments. For example, get your 15 minute mile down to a 10 minute mile in eight weeks and buy yourself a new pair of shoes.</p>
<p><strong>5.Set achievable goals</strong>. It’s great to decide you want to lose 100 pounds or run a marathon however these are huge goals and may seem difficult, if not impossible sometimes, to achieve. This can be discouraging and can put real kinks into the effectiveness of your workout. Instead, set smaller goals to help you achieve your big goal.  For example, if you want to run a marathon, focus first on running a 5K. Accomplish that and then you can set a new achievable goal, like running a 10K or a half marathon.</p>
<p><strong>6.Give yourself a day off</strong>. Working out every day can not only lessen the effectiveness of your workouts, it can affect your entire workout program. Give yourself one or two days off each week from working out. It doesn’t mean you have to be sedate that day; you can go for a walk or do some light stretching but don’t overdo it.</p>
<p><strong>7.Make it enjoyable</strong>. Of course you will begin to enjoy your workout routine as you begin to see results however, if you enjoy your workout program from the get go, your program will be much more effective. Give yourself something to make it fun, listen to music, watch your favorite television program, get outside and enjoy nature – whatever you enjoy.</p>
<p>It’s also important to make sure you have proper form with many exercise programs and routines. If you need guidance seek a personal trainer just to make sure you’re on the right track. An hour with a professional can make all the difference. Take the time to implement your workout routines effectively and you’ll be positioning yourself for success and the weight loss and fitness results you desire.</p>
